Call for modernisation of capital's health centres

CDA Chairman and Chief Commissioner Muhammad Ali Randhawa has directed the District Health Officer and members of the CDA's Technology Board to enhance the quality of Rural Health Centres (RHCs) and Basic Health Units (BHUs) in Islamabad. The initiative aims to integrate new technologies, provide essential medical equipment, and upgrade infrastructure for improved healthcare services.

During a recent meeting, Randhawa met with members of the engineering and technology departments, along with the District Health Officer, who briefed attendees on the current status of RHCs and BHUs and the actions taken so far.

Randhawa emphasised the need for a comprehensive upgrade plan that includes clear timelines and budget details to enhance healthcare facilities in the region. He underscored the importance of delivering high-quality basic healthcare services, noting that RHCs and BHUs are vital to primary healthcare in the community.

He also instructed officials to equip healthcare facilities with modern technology and resources to effectively meet community needs. Additionally, he called for the digitalization of health records and the implementation of a "One Patient, One ID" system to streamline patient care.
