Search operations: ANP’s reaction to Rangers operation

KARACHI: Awami National Party’s Sindh chapter’s chief Shahi Syed said that despite the fact that Rangers and law enforcement agencies have arrested many of their party’s supporters he is supporting the operations. While talking to The Express Tribune, Syed said that Karachi’s search operations was one of ANP’s demands.  He said it would be better if it was conducted through the Army but ANP is satisfied with the Rangers because they are not politically influenced like the police. Syed said that ANP is not afraid of the operations because the arrested suspects are not taken to torture cells and drilled to death with machines. “We welcome Rangers operations in our areas, our party offices in Pehalwan Goth and Sabzi Mandi were raided but we have no objections to this,” said Syed.  “Our people from Katti Pahari, Quaidabad, Keamari and Pehalwan Goth were arrested but later they were released because they had no weapons.”
