Michael Keaton surprised by unexpected cameo in Beetlejuice 2
Michael Keaton recently revealed his surprise over Danny DeVito’s cameo in Beetlejuice 2, stating that he was unaware of it during filming.
Keaton, who reprises his role as Betelgeuse in the film, mentioned in an interview with Forbes that director Tim Burton never told him about DeVito’s appearance, which he only discovered while watching an early cut of the film. “I didn’t recognize him right away, but then I realized it was him,” Keaton said. DeVito plays an afterlife janitor, a role that adds unexpected humor to the film.
The film’s storyline involves Betelgeuse’s new journey, intertwined with Lydia Deetz's (played by Winona Ryder) mission to rescue her daughter from the afterlife.
With many interconnected plotlines, surprises like DeVito’s cameo further enhance the film’s comedic twists and supernatural adventures. The movie, directed by Tim Burton, continues the chaotic and entertaining spirit of the original, with a number of twists yet to be revealed.
