Barstool Sports founder Dave Portnoy wants to set the record straight: he’s a true Swiftie, and he’s got the letter to prove it.

In an Instagram video shared on Sunday, Portnoy showcased a handwritten note from Taylor Swift herself, thanking him for attending her 'Eras Tour' in Miami. The businessman shared the letter in response to a viral TikTok accusing him of being a "fake Swiftie" who was using Swift’s name to gain attention.

“It was an amazing night and I should be on cloud nine, but this girl kind of went viral recently trashing me and being like, ‘I’m a fake Swiftie. Swifties should hate this guy, more importantly, Taylor's camp hates Dave, they never talked to him [or] reached out,’" Portnoy explained, addressing the viral clip.

He clarified that the accusations were unfounded, revealing this was his second time attending the 'Eras Tour'.

Portnoy then pulled out the handwritten letter, reportedly from Swift and delivered by her brother, Austin, during the concert.

"This girl is like, 'Ooh Taylor hates him. They don't want him there. They don't like him,’" Portnoy said. “This letter from Taylor herself that was hand-delivered to me in the VIP section."

He then read the note aloud: "Dave, I'm so happy to have you at the show tonight! I wanted to say thank you for always being so supportive, so loyal, and for having my back when a lot of people didn’t. I hope you have a blast tonight! Love, Taylor."

Portnoy reflected on the moment, noting that the note should have been the "highlight" of his night, especially after meeting Swift’s mother, Andrea.

"We had like, a real hug. Like, almost teary, like, a real hug," he recalled. Despite the negative comments, Portnoy ultimately decided to take the high road, saying, "I think Taylor would like me to take the high road so I will."

This isn’t the first time Portnoy has defended his Swiftie status. After Swift endorsed Kamala Harris for president last month, Portnoy stood by her side despite planning to vote for Donald Trump.

"As the king of the Swifties people are asking me what I think of her Kamala endorsement. I don't care at all," he wrote on X (formerly Twitter). "People can vote for whoever they want in this country."
