15-year-old arrested following fatal shooting of five in Washington

Suspect currently in juvenile facility expected to make his first court appearance today.

A 15-year-old boy is in custody following a shooting that left five people dead at a home in Fall City, southeast of Seattle.

The incident occurred just before 5am on Monday, prompting multiple 911 calls reporting gunfire.

When deputies arrived at the scene on Lake Alice Road, they found a chaotic situation, with the boy taken into custody without incident.

Inside the residence, law enforcement discovered the bodies of five individuals, including three children and two adults.

A sixth victim, a female juvenile, was transported to a Seattle hospital for treatment after receiving first aid from a neighbor.

King County Sheriff’s Deputy Mike Mellis confirmed that the victims appear to be family members, although the exact relationships are still under investigation.

He emphasized there is no ongoing threat to the community, stating, “I have no reason to think that there will be any additional arrests.”

The suspect has been booked into the King County Juvenile Detention facility and is expected to make his first court appearance on Tuesday or Wednesday.

As the investigation continues, the Washington State Patrol is assisting with forensic analysis while the King County Sheriff’s Office Major Crimes Unit leads the case.

In a statement, Sheriff Patricia Cole-Tindall expressed her sadness over the incident, describing it as “very disturbing.”

Community members have expressed shock, with neighbors noting that a couple and their five children lived at the home.

King County Councilmember Sarah Perry confirmed that the shooting involved a family of seven.
