AJK PM lays foundation for longest bridge

AJK PM Chaudhry Anwarul Haq laid the foundation stone on Monday for the Rs10 billion Rathoa Haryam Mirpur-Islamgarh bridge, a 7,181-meter-long project spanning the Mangla Dam reservoir.

Speaking at the ceremony in Islamgarh, Haq highlighted that with financial support from the government of Pakistan under the Mangla Dam Raising Project, the bridge construction has been awarded to the FWO, a well-reputed Pakistani firm.

Haq noted that the project, initially valued at Rs17 billion, will now be completed at a reduced cost of Rs10 billion. He also formally handed over the construction contract to FWO officials during the event
