A 19-year-old Swiss man is under investigation after a dramatic police chase in Romania.

According to The Daily Mail, the man traveled to Fagaras, Transylvania, with the goal of meeting Dracula and being transformed into a vampire. He planned to reach the infamous Hoia-Baciu forest on Halloween but ran out of money before arriving. On the morning of October 20, he stole a car and set off towards his destination.

The man was dressed as Van Helsing, Dracula’s legendary nemesis, when he was spotted driving erratically, zigzagging through traffic. During the ensuing police chase, he collided with five cars, injuring three people—a man and two women—who were taken to the hospital for treatment.

According to Romanian police, the man refused to stop for authorities, leading them on a high-speed pursuit that ended when he abandoned the stolen car and fled on foot. He was quickly apprehended by police, and dashcam footage shows officers pursuing him both on foot and in vehicles.

Initial tests suggest the man may have been under the influence of drugs, and he allegedly admitted this to investigators. Further tests are being conducted to determine if psychoactive substances were involved. The Swiss man also did not have a driver's license, and local media reports that he is currently being held for 24 hours while police continue their investigation into theft, traffic violations, and driving without a license.
