Cooper Koch, one of the breakout stars of Monsters: The Lyle and Erik Menendez Story, opened up about his experiences with discrimination in Hollywood.

During an appearance on Watch What Happens Live, Koch revealed that an acting coach once told him he wasn’t booking roles because of his "gay voice." The actor shared how the coach even brought up the conversation in front of an entire class, which left him stunned at the time.

Despite the criticism, Koch has embraced his identity, telling Andy Cohen, "I love my gay voice." Koch also discussed this experience in a 2023 interview with Edge Media Network, revealing he’s faced bullying and was even fired from a pilot because of his voice. However, Koch says he now stands firm and refuses to tolerate such treatment.

Koch's rising career, including his notable portrayal of Erik Menendez in Monsters, has captivated audiences, and his candid remarks about his struggles as a queer actor in the industry have resonated with many.
