Rosie O'Donnell’s daughter, Chelsea Belle O'Donnell, has been thrust into the spotlight once again after being arrested on serious charges of child neglect and drug possession.

The arrest followed a distressing domestic disturbance call to Chelsea's home in Marinette County, Wisconsin, where authorities discovered her 11-month-old son in dangerous proximity to a meth pipe. The house was found in deplorable conditions, with reports describing the presence of garbage, soiled diapers, dirty dishes, and drug paraphernalia scattered throughout the residence, including meth pipes, needles, and a digital scale.

The appalling state of the home, coupled with the presence of illicit substances, prompted immediate intervention from Child Protective Services, who took custody of the infant.

Chelsea, who has publicly struggled with addiction and mental health issues for years, now faces a series of felony charges, including maintaining a drug trafficking place, possession of methamphetamine and THC, and child neglect. Additionally, she faces two misdemeanor charges for disorderly conduct/domestic abuse and possession of illegally obtained prescription drugs. These legal troubles come as part of a long history of personal struggles for Chelsea, who made headlines in 2015 after she ran away from home at age 17 and reunited with her birth mother, further highlighting her strained relationship with her adoptive family.

Chelsea’s issues with addiction and mental health have been openly addressed by her famous mother, Rosie O'Donnell, who adopted her as a baby in 1997 during her relationship with Kelli Carpenter. In past interviews, O'Donnell revealed that Chelsea was born addicted to heroin and had battled mental illness throughout her life, including multiple hospitalizations. Despite the challenges, O'Donnell has remained vocal about her love for her daughter, though their relationship has been tumultuous over the years, with periods of estrangement.

The recent arrest adds to Chelsea’s growing list of legal and personal troubles. She is now a mother of four, having endured a failed marriage and numerous brushes with the law. In addition to her struggles with addiction, Chelsea has faced ongoing issues with anxiety and depression, although she has publicly denied having any mental health problems in the past.
