Lady Gaga to release new single ‘Disease’ this week following surprise album ‘Harlequin’
Lady Gaga is set to release a new single titled "Disease" on October 25, 2024, following the surprise release of her latest album Harlequin.
While Gaga has yet to make an official announcement, her parent label Universal Music shared pre-saves for the track on a pop-up site, allowing fans to link to Spotify and Apple Music. Fans began speculating about the song’s title earlier this week after noticing the capitalization of letters on some of her songs had changed, which, when rearranged, spelled out "Disease."
This single comes after Gaga hinted at an October release date for her first single from the album in a post shared last month. The post referenced “XX October: LG7 first single,” alongside other dates for her Joker: Folie à Deux press tour.
Gaga’s recent film, Joker: Folie à Deux, received mixed reviews and underperformed at the box office. Despite this, the singer has found success with her duet "Die With a Smile" featuring Bruno Mars, which debuted at No. 3 on the Billboard Hot 100 in August.
Harlequin, which includes mostly classic American Songbook tracks, debuted at No. 20 on the Billboard 200, marking Gaga’s lowest debut for a full-length album. The project is inspired by her character in the Joker film and follows the style of her previous collaborations with the late Tony Bennett, including Cheek to Cheek and Love for Sale.
