Man held for 'killing son-in-law'
Police have arrested a man for allegedly killing his son-in-law and seized weapons from his possession.
According to the police, Waseem Khan filed an FIR at Bahtar police station, stating that his younger brother, Zeeshan Faisal, had married the daughter of Nadeem Ali Khan two and a half years ago. Recently, Faisal's wife left their home in anger and went to her father's house, leading to a dispute between Faisal and his father-in-law.
Waseem further explained that he and his brother, Majid Khan, usually slept on the upper floor of the house, while Faisal slept on the lower floor. Around 7am, they heard a commotion and rushed downstairs, where they saw Khan and his son, Ismail, confronting Faisal and hurling insults at him. Ismail reportedly accused Faisal of mistreating his sister, declaring they would no longer tolerate it.
During the argument, Khan allegedly fired a shot at Faisal, killing him on the spot. Police registered a murder case and arrested both Khan and his son, Ismail Khan, residents of Fateh Jhang. They were taken into physical custody.
Following Nadeem's confession, the police also recovered the murder weapon, a 30-bore pistol. A separate case under the Arms Ordinance was filed, and both father and son remain in detention.
