Pakistan Customs officials have reported a significant increase in drug seizures at Jinnah International Airport, with expensive narcotics being intercepted daily through parcel shipments from abroad.

In a recent operation at the International Mail Office on Saturday, authorities confiscated marijuana concealed within a parcel sent from Thailand.

According to Additional Collector of Customs Faisal Khan, the parcel contained boxes of candies, which were used as a cover for smuggling the expensive narcotic.

"Upon suspicion, the parcel was scanned, revealing 3.8 kilograms of marijuana worth approximately Rs15 million hidden within the candy boxes," Khan stated. The substance was subsequently confirmed through a narcotics test.

The parcel was addressed to Mrs Mirza Junaid in DHA Karachi and had originated from Bangkok, Thailand.

The seized marijuana has been confiscated, and a case has been registered as authorities work to apprehend the drug network involved in the shipment.
