Liam Payne's ex Maya Henry's book predicts his death: 'Starts hitting himself, runs for the balcony'
Liam Payne's ex-fiancée, Maya Henry, released a book summary that contains passages eerily similar to the circumstances of Payne's death on October 16, 2021. According to local reports, the 31-year-old Payne died after falling from a third-floor balcony at a hotel in Buenos Aires, Argentina.
In her recent novel 'Looking Forward', Maya Henry, Payne's former fiancée, shared insights about what she described as a toxic relationship with the singer. The book tells the fictional story of a couple named Mallory and Oliver, though Henry has admitted in an interview with PEOPLE that much of the narrative is "inspired by true events." She also likened the character of Mallory to herself.

Following Liam Payne's death, social media users noted that Henry's book contains sections that are oddly similar to how the former One Direction star tragically died. One excerpt shared online reads:
"She gets him to calm down and lies with her in bed but he is quickly triggered into another fit. He starts hitting himself and runs for the balcony. He starts claiming he is going to kill himself. She wraps her arms around him but he pushes her back into the room and against the wall."
Looking Forward explores the life of Mallory, a model with aspirations, who falls in love with Oliver, a singer and former boy band member. According to AS, Oliver's character closely resembles Liam Payne, and the relationship in the book has striking similarities to Henry's own relationship with the singer. The novel also touches on difficult topics such as substance abuse, abortion, suicide, violence, and eating disorders.
Liam Payne and Maya Henry reportedly started dating in 2019 when she was 18 and he was 26. The pair got engaged in 2020, but broke up the following year. They briefly reunited before ending their relationship for good in 2022. Henry is currently studying Creative Writing at New York University.
