Man injured after jumping from second-floor lobby at Trump Tower in Midtown Manhattan
A man was injured Thursday afternoon after jumping from the second-floor lobby of Trump Tower in Midtown Manhattan, police said.
The incident occurred around 4:20 p.m., when the man, who has not been identified, was acting erratically in the multi-level lobby of the Fifth Avenue skyscraper. NYPD officers asked him to leave the premises, but he instead jumped over the railing, falling one story into the lobby below, law enforcement sources told 'The Post'.
The 68-story Trump Tower, which houses residential, commercial, and retail spaces, has a lobby open to the public.
Despite suffering unspecified injuries, the man was conscious when first responders arrived and was transported to a nearby hospital for treatment. Police later confirmed that he had been intubated.
At the time of the incident, former President Donald Trump was not at his namesake building, where he owns a penthouse triplex, sources added.
