Ulema to help raise awareness on dengue

The Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Health Department has sought the cooperation of leading religious scholars to tackle the rising cases of dengue in the province.

As a result, religious leaders and the Health Department will work together to raise public awareness about dengue prevention. Religious leaders have assured their full cooperation to the health department.

In this regard, the scholars will work to educate people in their respective areas.

Recently, the Health Department, with the support of UNICEF, organised a one-day awareness session in Peshawar, focused on strategies to prevent dengue. The session was attended by a large number of key health officials, including Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Health Secretary Adeel Shah, Additional Director General Health Services Dr Shahid Younas, Dengue Activities Focal Person Dr Ikramullah Khan, VPD Director and Dr Fazal Rahman.

Prominent religious figures also attended, Maulana Qari Ehsanul Haq, Maulana Hussain Ahmed, Maulana Syed Yousuf Shah, Maulana Habibur Rahman, and Mufti Ubaid. District khatibs from Charsadda, Mardan, Kohat, Bannu, Haripur, and other districts also participated.

In his address, K-P Health Secretary Adeel Shah praised the significant role of religious leaders in supporting health initiatives .
