One Direction members release emotional joint statement following Liam Payne’s tragic death

The remaining members of One Direction—Harry Styles, Zayn Malik, Niall Horan, and Louis Tomlinson—have expressed their devastation following the death of their former bandmate Liam Payne,who passed away after falling from a hotel balcony in Buenos Aires.

Payne, 31, was on holiday with his girlfriend Kate Cassidy when the incident occurred.

In a joint statement, the band said: "We’re completely devastated by the news of Liam’s passing. In time, and when everyone is able to, there will be more to say. But for now, we will take some time to grieve and process the loss of our brother, who we loved dearly. The memories we shared with him will be treasured forever." The band also expressed their thoughts for Liam’s family, friends, and fans, concluding the statement with, "We love you, Liam."

A toxicology report is pending, but reports suggest Liam’s behavior had been erratic in the hours leading up to the tragic fall. Payne had been a fan favorite and was seen interacting with fans outside his hotel just days before his death.
