The students' union at Karachi University is protesting for the seventh consecutive day against various issues faced by students, including fee hikes, and has partially boycotted classes.

The protest, led by the students' union, began at the Administrative Block and has gained support from all departments and student organizations.

The university's administrative offices, canteen, and departments remain partially closed, and buses are not being allowed to operate.

The students are demanding a 50% reduction in late fee charges, immediate elimination of examination fees, abolition of the Rs5,000 re-admission fee, and immediate repair of dilapidated buses and improvement of classroom conditions.

The students vow to continue protests until their demands are met, citing unresolved issues related to high fees, poor facilities, and transport-related problems.

Earlier, protesters alleged that Vice Chancellor Dr. Khalid Mahmood Iraqi had suspended the operation of points, forcing students to find alternative transportation home.

Student leaders formally presented their charter of demands to the Vice-Chancellor.

Following negotiations, the students' organization announced that Vice Chancellor Dr. Khalid Mahmood Iraqi had agreed to partially accept their demands.
