Liam Payne took to social media just two weeks before his untimely death on Wednesday, sharing his desire to reconnect with his former One Direction bandmate, Niall Horan.

In a video shared on Snapchat and reposted on X, the late 31-year-old said, “I think we might just go and say hello.”

Payne mentioned that it had been a while since he last spoke with Horan and that they had “a lot to talk about,” adding, “I would like to square up a couple things with the boy.”

He clarified that there were “no bad vibes or anything like that” and that he simply wanted to have a conversation with Horan during his Oct. 2 concert in Argentina.

Payne was later spotted enjoying the concert, captured dancing in a fan video shared that evening.

In the footage, he can be seen clapping and leaning over a glass barrier to get a better view of the fans below.

His girlfriend, Kate Cassidy, accompanied him to the concert.

While at the event, Payne took photos with fans and was recorded speaking in Spanish for the crowd.

Tragically, Payne fell from the balcony of his room at the CasaSur Palermo Hotel in Buenos Aires, Argentina, on Wednesday, according to local authorities as reported by the Associated Press.

A police statement confirmed that the fall resulted in “extremely serious injuries,” and medics pronounced him dead at the scene.

Pablo Policicchio, a spokesperson for the Buenos Aires Security Ministry, told AP that Payne “had thrown himself from the balcony of his room.”

Policicchio also noted that police were called to the hotel regarding an emergency involving an “aggressive man who could be under the influence of drugs or alcohol.”

First responders heard a loud sound and found Payne’s body in the hotel courtyard.

After the news of Payne's passing spread on social media, many fans and celebrities shared emotional tributes.

Paris Hilton posted on X, “So upsetting to hear the news of @LiamPayne passing😢 Sending love and condolences to his family & loved ones. 🙏 RIP my friend🥺”

Musician Charlie Puth expressed his shock on his Instagram Story, reminiscing about his time working with Payne.

“I am in shock right now,” he wrote. “Liam was always so kind to me. He was one of the first major artists I got to work with. I can not believe he is gone … I am so upset right now, may he rest in peace.”
