Anti-aging enthusiast Bryan Johnson reveals new plasma therapy, calls his plasma ‘liquid gold’

Bryan Johnson claims his latest plasma exchange removes toxins from his body, calling the outcome ‘liquid gold.’

Anti-aging enthusiast Bryan Johnson, known for investing millions in his quest for eternal youth, has revealed his latest therapy: a total plasma exchange. The 47-year-old tech mogul shared on social media that he underwent a procedure that removes all of his body’s plasma and replaces it with albumin, a protein found in blood plasma. According to Johnson, the objective is to remove toxins from his body. He added, “The evidence is emergent,” suggesting that the long-term benefits are still being explored.

This plasma exchange follows a previous controversial treatment in which Johnson swapped blood with his teenage son, whom he called his "blood boy," though no benefits were found from that procedure.

Johnson, who spends around $2 million annually on anti-aging efforts, claimed the operator conducting the plasma exchange marveled at the cleanliness of his plasma. “He couldn’t get over it,” Johnson said, adding that the medical professional mentioned it was "the cleanest he’s ever seen. By far." Johnson even hinted at the possibility of auctioning or donating his plasma after his next treatment, referring to it as "liquid gold."

The therapy involves a patient’s blood passing through a machine that filters the plasma and reinfuses the red blood cells, according to the National Institutes of Health. Johnson's treatment plan includes six total plasma exchanges.
