Father and toddler killed, mother critically injured in Karachi hit-and-run accident

A hit-and-run accident near Port Qasim Oil Depot in Karachi claimed the lives of a father and his infant son, while his wife was critically injured.

The incident occurred when an unidentified vehicle hit motorbike carrying the family.

According to police reports, all three members of the family sustained severe injuries and were immediately rushed to Jinnah Hospital and a private medical facility for treatment.

The 40-year-old father, Abid, succumbed to his injuries during treatment at Jinnah Hospital.

His one-and-a-half-year-old son, Atif, also passed away after failing to recover from his injuries at a private hospital.

The condition of the mother, 35-year-old Nadra, remains critical.

Initial investigations suggest that the accident was caused by a collision from an unknown vehicle.

Police are conducting further inquiries into the incident.

Previously, a traffic incident ocurred in Punjab when a girl was also killed while seven others sustained multiple injuries in a road accident on October 8.

According to Rescue-1122, two families were returning to Sargodha from Faisalabad by a van when a truck hit their vehicle from behind near Faisalabad Road.

On information, the rescue team rushed to the spot and shifted the victims to the Dr. Faisal Masood Teaching Hospital. Police were investigating.
