Youth commits murder-suicide in Rawalpindi

The police have transported the bodies to the hospital for post-mortem examination.

RAWALPINDI:

In a tragic incident, a young man allegedly killed a woman before taking his own life in an apparent murder-suicide at a residence on Kartarpura Road, Rawalpindi.

According to the police, the incident occurred at Yasir's house when Hamza, a friend of Yasir, arrived with a woman named Aaima, who was divorced. A dispute erupted between Hamza and Aaima while they were in one of the rooms. Authorities believe that during the altercation, Hamza fatally shot Aaima before turning the gun on himself.

Police officials said that upon arriving at the scene following an emergency alert, the family initially denied knowledge of the young couple's presence or how they entered the house. However, after DSP Waris Khan Malik Raffaqat and SHO Raja Hussain conducted an examination, crucial evidence came to light.

The investigation revealed that the motorcycle found outside belonged to the boy. Further inquiries confirmed that both victims, Hamza and Aaima, resided in Bangash Colony's Pirwadhai area, and the pistol used was licensed to Hamza. Additionally, police discovered that the household members operated a linen business on Jamia Masjid Road, where they allegedly met Hamza.

The police have transported the bodies to the hospital for post-mortem examination. Authorities stated that the full circumstances surrounding the incident will be determined through ongoing investigations and post-mortem results.

In a separate incident within the Gujar Khan police station jurisdiction, unidentified armed assailants on a motorcycle shot and killed Imran, a local citizen, while he was driving his car.
