Imran Khan receives medical visit in Adiala Jail, PTI confirms his well-being
Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan met with a medical team at Adiala Jail on Tuesday, as confirmed by PTI Chairman Barrister Gohar Ali Khan.
The visit came after PTI raised concerns over the former prime minister’s health and demanded a medical examination.
“Today at around 4pm, two doctors, including an ENT specialist and a physician, visited Khan Sahib in Adiala Jail,” Barrister Gohar stated. “We had received news earlier that, by the grace of God, Khan Sahib is well, and today he even completed an hour of exercise.”
Barrister Gohar assured that PTI would soon obtain medical reports and share them with the public. “I thank every PTI supporter and worker who expressed concern about Khan Sahib’s health,” he added.
PTI had earlier threatened a protest at Islamabad’s D-Chowk if medical attention was not provided to their leader. The party eventually called off the protest after receiving assurances from the government that Imran Khan would be given proper medical care.
Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi had reached out to PTI leadership, ensuring that a team of doctors would be sent to Adiala Jail for the examination. Following this development, PTI leadership decided to halt preparations for the protest.
“We have postponed the protest, but it remains on the table if our demands are not fully met,” Barrister Gohar said in a video statement. He emphasised that the protest was conditional, and with the government fulfilling their primary concern, PTI saw no reason to continue the demonstration for now.
The medical team, including Imran Khan’s personal physician, is expected to provide a comprehensive health report soon, easing concerns raised by PTI regarding their leader’s condition in jail.
