Cheating issues surface in Dragon Ball Sparking Zero multiplayer matches days after release
Just days after the release of Dragon Ball Sparking Zero, players have begun reporting instances of cheating in the game’s multiplayer matches. A clip shared on the official Sparking Zero Reddit page shows one player using a cheat to continuously refill their Ki meter, enabling them to unleash an unlimited barrage of super attacks without penalty. In the video, a player controlling Gogeta struggles to charge their Ki meter, as their opponent’s character, Kefla, repeatedly disrupts their attacks with Gigantic Ray.
According to users on the Reddit thread, the infinite Ki refill cheat appears to have originated from a mod available on Nexus Mods, a popular site for game mods. As of October 14, 2024, the mod has been hidden and is no longer available for download.
However, some players argue that the situation may not be cheating. One commenter explained, “He’s using the God Ki ability capsule. He’s not cheating, you just need to put in the minuscule amount of effort it takes to customize your character.” God Ki reduces the Ki cost of super attacks and automatically refills the Ki meter if an attack misses, suggesting the issue could stem from legitimate game mechanics rather than mods.
Regardless of the cause, the presence of instant Ki regeneration in online matches has frustrated many players. The community recommends checking settings to ensure the “God Ki” capsule is disabled during multiplayer, and encourages reporting suspected cheaters.a
