Strict action against overpricing pledged
The Lahore district administration has stated that it is actively working to ensure the implementation of official price lists in the metropolis.
According to a statement issued by the Lahore Deputy Commissioner's Office, the administration is dedicated to providing maximum relief to the common man.in line with the vision of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif. Deputy Commissioner Syed Musa Raza is overseeing the price inspection and implementation teams, as the administration has adopted a zero tolerance policy towards price violations, issuing challans to offenders, it added.
The administration encouraged the citizens to report any instances of overcharging or noncompliance through social media, digital platforms or directly to it, asserting that the complaints are promptly ad-dressed with visual evidence.
The district administration stated that its efforts had yielded positive results. In the past week, the prices of many essential items, including fruits, vegetables, meat and other daily use items, have either remained stable or decreased.
Meanwhile, the authorities intensified their crackdown on profiteering and hoarding, conducting inspections at nearly 2,000 locations over the past three days, leading to the registration of 10 cases, 13 arrests, the sealing of three shops and the imposition of fines worth Rs2.93 million.
