A man has been arrested in Rawalpindi for fatally shooting his mother-in-law and father-in-law in their home. The incident occurred in the Kotli Sattian area.
The accused, identified as Tauqeer, had been estranged from his wife for nearly 10 months and she had been living with her parents. Police believe the murders were a result of this ongoing family dispute.
Tauqeer arrived at his in-laws' residence and lured them to the doorstep. He then opened fire, killing both of them.
He subsequently fled the scene. The deceased's son, Ghaffar Ahmed, reported the crime to the police. A case was registered against Tauqeer, and a team of police officers was formed to apprehend him.
Through a combination of technological and human intelligence, the police were able to track down Tauqeer and take him into custody. Murree DPO Asif Amin commended the police team for their swift action and said that the accused would be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.
The accused, Tauqeer, is currently being held in custody. He is expected to appear in court soon, where he will be formally charged with the double murders. If found guilty, Tauqeer could face a life sentence or even the death penalty. This tragic incident has highlighted the serious issue of domestic violence and the need for greater efforts to prevent such crimes from happening.
