Students at Karachi University held a protest outside the administration block, raising their voices against several issues, including high fees, a shortage of transport facilities, and inadequate basic amenities.

The protest was organised by the Islami Jamiat-e-Talaba and the Students’ Alliance of Karachi University, Express News reported.

The protestors marched towards the Silver Jubilee Gate, where they locked the gate and held a sit-in, chanting slogans against the administration. The students carried banners denouncing the poor condition of classrooms and the steep fee hikes.

The students demanded an immediate reversal of the 50% increase in late fees and the removal of exam fees.

They also called for the end of the re-admission process that requires a payment of Rs. 5,000.

Additionally, the students insisted on immediate repairs of the deteriorating university buses and improvements to the classroom conditions.

The protestors declared they would continue their demonstrations until their demands are met, vowing to escalate the protest if necessary.
