Israeli attack on Gaza's Nuseirat refugee camp kills. eight Palestinian family members

Victims, who sought shelter at home after being displaced included Walid Abu Ghali, his wife Shireen with six children

An Israeli attack early Sunday morning on a home in the Nuseirat refugee camp in central Gaza resulted in the deaths of eight members of the Abu Ghali family, marking another tragedy in the ongoing conflict.

The victims, who had sought shelter at the home of the Abu Dlal family for safety after being displaced, included Walid Abu Ghali, his wife Shireen, and their six children: Mohammad, Ahmad, Yasmeen, Samah, Yara, and Tala.

Their bodies were taken to Al-Awda Hospital for identification.

This attack is part of Israel’s broader military campaign that has been intensifying since October 7, 2023.

In another incident, Israeli attack targeted homes in the Jabalia refugee camp in northern Gaza, which has been under a tight blockade for over a week.

Explosive drones destroyed multiple homes, and fires broke out in various parts of the camp as continuous bombardments persisted.

Local sources also reported that an Israeli missile caused a fire at the Abu Hashim family home near the Abdel Aal junction on Al-Jalaa Street, northwest of Gaza City

. Meanwhile, artillery shelling targeted residential homes in the Sikka area of the Zeitoun neighborhood in southeastern Gaza City, compounding the destruction and civilian toll.

Since the escalation began, Gaza has been reeling from the Israeli offensive, which has led to 42,175 documented Palestinian fatalities, with over 98,336 injured, primarily women and children.

Thousands more are feared to be trapped under the rubble of destroyed buildings, with rescue efforts hampered by ongoing strikes and hazardous conditions.

Israeli forces have justified their actions as part of their response to an October 7 attack which resulted in 1,139 Israeli deaths and more than 200 hostages taken by the group.

Israel’s actions have devastated Gaza’s already fragile infrastructure.

The violence has also spilled over into southern Lebanon.

On Saturday, Israeli forces bombed the main commercial market street in Nabatieh, a key city in the region.

The attack left at least eight people wounded as rescue workers struggled to control a massive blaze and search for survivors.

The invasion on Lebanon comes amid growing tensions between Israel and Hezbollah, with both sides trading cross-border fire.

UN peacekeepers, known as "blue helmets," stationed in southern Lebanon have also been caught in the violence.

On Friday night, gunfire from unknown assailants wounded a United Nations peacekeeper, marking the fifth such injury near the Israeli-Lebanese border in just two days, according to the UN’s Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL).

The increasing hostilities between Israel and Hezbollah, backed by Iran, raise fears of a broader regional conflict.

Israel's military invasion in both Gaza and Lebanon has drawn widespread international condemnation over civilian casualties and the potential for a full-scale war.

As the siege on Gaza continues into its ninth day, the humanitarian crisis is worsening.

Civil defense teams and emergency services are struggling to access many of the most affected areas due to constant Israeli bombardments, leaving entire families buried beneath the rubble.

Both Gaza and southern Lebanon remain under siege, with civilians bearing the brunt of the ongoing violence.
