HYDERABAD:

A conference of sub-nationalist parties and civil society activists has called for constituting a judicial commission to probe the arrest, killing and desecration of the dead body of Dr Shahnawaz Kumbhar.

The meeting, organised by Jeay Sindh Mahaz, demanded that three sitting judges of the Sindh High Court should be members of that commission which has become essential as violent extremist reactions in reaction to unproven blasphemy accusations is becoming rampant. The conference also formed a committee, led by Ismail Wassan and Dr Badar Channa, to pursue the ongoing case to get justice for Dr Kumbhar by bringing to the book the police officers and officials and the private persons involved in his killing and desecration of his body.

"The nationalist parties (in Sindh) have always confronted the forces which attempt to push people in the darkness and towards extremism in the name of religions," said JSM's President Riaz Ali Chandio.
