PTI workers granted bail in protest cases
An Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) in Lahore confirmed the bail pleas of 13 individuals affiliated with the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), who were accused of creating law and order disturbances during an October 5 protest.
The accused were charged with inciting anarchy in response to a protest call by PTI. During the proceedings, the prosecution argued that the accused, residents of Bajaur, had participated in the protest, creating unrest and targeting police officials.
The defence counsel countered these claims, asserting that the accused were employees at shoe shops and had no involvement in the alleged offenses. The defence lawyer argued that the charges were fabricated, requesting the court to grant bail to the accused.
In a separate development, the court also scheduled hearings for October 18 on additional bail petitions filed by PTI's founding chairman, Imran Khan.
