The film trult captures the vibes of feeling lost which definitely hit once the summer ends. There is something about Robin Williams movies that bring the ultimate feeling of comfort.

“If Beale Street Could Talk” transcends a typical love story; it delivers Baldwin's poignant commentary on how racism can fracture a family. Tish and Fonny, the central couple in the novel, have been inseparable since childhood, navigating life in 1970s New York. It’s a tale of systemic oppression and the struggles of complex individuals to persevere, revealing both beauty and love amid adversity. The score and cinematography of incredibly gorgeous too.

The gorgeous scenes in the great British outdoors with the deep greens, dewy landscapes and waeming sunlight capture the end of the summer in England so aptly. The 2005 movie adaptation of Pride and Prejudice is a classic and many class it as the best adaptation of the Austen novel to date.

The Harry Potter series is an obvious watch as soon as September hits. Plus - there's nothing quite like watching Hermoine (Emma Watson) punch Malfoy (Tom Felton) in the gut!

Quite possibly THE autumn/fall movie. The film's brilliance lies in how director Rob Reiner and screenwriter Nora Ephron peel away the characters’ backgrounds, just as they eliminate all barriers to happiness. They focus solely on Harry and Sally’s perspectives on love, friendship, and each other. The outcome is a romantic comedy stripped to its core: filled with romance and humor, yet nothing more.

Aftersun captures the feeling of summer ending and takes the meaning of that to a new level with the devastating implications of the ending. At a fading vacation resort, 11-year-old Sophie treasures rare time together with her loving and idealistic father, Calum (Paul Mescal). It is a compelling father-daughter drama that employs the fragmented nature of past memories to enhance the narrative rather than replace it.

The idea of a sudden possibility of romance at the end of a summer and the fact that is cut short due to both having to return to normal life across the world from another. "If only we had met earlier" mentality.

The dichotomy between the bright colourful stories that feel like summer and the reality that the person telling these stories is at the end of their life. Director Tim Burton showcases his unique imagination in a heartwarming tale that explores the deep bond between a father and his son.

The oranges and the reds of the colour palette of this film are just so gorgeous it had to be included. In "20th Century Women," love and loss intertwine in a poignant and humorous narrative about a teenager and the women who nurture him.

The beautiful landscape, cosy pub and loneliness of the characters just captures the vibe of the end of summer perfectly to me. "The Banshees of Inisherin" is more than just a brilliantly crafted screenplay. This profoundly moving film, rich in humor and exceptional performances, is beautifully shot by Ben Davis and stands as a significant achievement, topping numerous 'best films of 2022' lists.

Road trip movies somehow always feel autumna;, this film feels both cold and warm at the same time. Set in the late 1980s, the film features Taylor Russell and Timothée Chalamet as two young cannibals who fall in love during a cross-country road trip - grotesque, but a good film nonetheless.

Feeling lost after high school ends is a trope I will never get tired of. The narrative follows the neo-cool Enid (Thora Birch) and Rebecca (Scarlett Johansson) as they confront their impending high school graduation. Together, they critically examine the world around them and reflect on their true desires.

This might just become one of your favourite comfort films. There is just something about the performances and the aesthetic that truly feels so authentic.

Just like the Harry Potter franchise, this is a must-watch every autumn/fall. Stop-motion is a labor-intensive animation style that, while overshadowed by computer-generated films, still captivates critics and audiences when done right. A prime example is Wes Anderson's 2009 stop-motion film, Fantastic Mr. Fox.

Another quintessential fall movie! Tom Hanks reunites with Sleepless in Seattle co-star Meg Ryan and director Nora Ephron in this online romantic comedy. Strangers Joe Fox and Kathleen Kelly, living near each other on New York's Upper West Side, connect anonymously in a chat room, sharing secrets while hiding their identities. But Joe's new Fox Books superstore, opening near Kathleen's family-owned shop, jeopardizes their growing romance.

Dead Poets Society is an inspiring and emotionally resonant story, bolstered by Robin Williams' unexpectedly relatable performance and the strong chemistry among its young cast. This beautifully crafted, expertly directed, and cleverly written film encourages viewers to pursue their dreams passionately and embrace life more fully.
