Mike Tyson breaks silence on Diddy's arrest, wishing him "all the best" amid sex trafficking charges
Mike Tyson discussed Diddy in an interview with Daily Mail published on Friday, where he unexpectedly shared that he wishes “all the best” for his longtime friend, who has been held at Brooklyn’s Metropolitan Detention Center since September 17 on multiple sex crime charges.
The Post was present at the Manhattan courthouse on Thursday when the judge denied Diddy’s bail request for the third time. The 54-year-old music mogul will remain in custody until his trial date on May 5, 2025.
Diddy's children and his mother, Janice Combs, who recently issued a statement in support of her son, were present in court to show their support.
Like many other celebrities, Tyson has been linked to the former Bad Boy Records CEO following his arrest on racketeering and sex trafficking charges, largely due to their decades-long friendship.
The retired heavyweight boxer, 58, has been photographed with Diddy at several of his famous parties over the years; however, there is no evidence to suggest that Tyson or any other stars attending Diddy’s events were involved in any alleged illegal activities.
When Daily Mail mentioned that his name has come up alongside Diddy's, Tyson seemed taken aback. “Wait, I’m synonymous with Diddy? Well, that’s cool,” Tyson replied. “I never knew that.”
When asked if he had any further comments, Tyson simply stated: “I wish him the best. In life, I wish him the best.”
Diddy was arrested on September 16 and charged with three counts, including racketeering conspiracy, sex trafficking by force, fraud, or coercion, and transportation for the purpose of prostitution. Prosecutors claim that he transported sex workers across state lines and coerced women into participating in “freak offs” with male prostitutes.
Prosecutors further allege that after the “freak offs,” Diddy would keep the recorded footage as “collateral” for blackmail and used firearms “to intimidate and threaten” those involved.
Over 120 alleged victims, including his ex-girlfriend Cassie Ventura, have come forward with accusations against Diddy. He has maintained his innocence and pleaded not guilty to all charges.
