Juventus outclassed Parma 4-1 in their first Serie A match in their new stadium with impressive performances from several close-season signings. Stephan Lichtsteiner got the party started when he calmly finished off fellow new-signing Andrea Pirlo’s pass. Three goals followed in the second half with Simone Pepe, new midfielder Arturo Vidal and Claudio Marchisio all finding the back of the net. In other action, defender Hugo Campagnaro was among the scorers as Napoli won 3-1 away to Cesena in their opening Serie A match.
