Veteran Pakistani actor Abid Kashmiri has passed away at the age of 74 after a brief illness.

His daughter confirmed the sad news, sharing that he had been unwell for some time.

Radio Pakistan confirmed the passing of veteran actor Abid Kashmiri, whose family revealed he had been battling serious health issues, including kidney complications and breathing difficulties, for some time.

Kashmiri, who had been living and working abroad for several years, returned to Pakistan recently and continued his work in the entertainment industry until his health deteriorated, according to reports.

He is survived by two sons and two daughters.

Born on May 4, 1950, in Lahore, Abid Kashmiri carved a lasting legacy in the entertainment industry, gracing television dramas, stage performances, and films with his spontaneous comedic genius.

His natural flair for comedy endeared him to audiences across generations.

In 1988, Kashmiri was honoured with the Nigar Award for Best Comedian for his role in 'Bazaar-e-Husn', further cementing his status as a beloved figure in Pakistani cinema.

Punjab Governor Sardar Salim Haider Khan expressed deep grief and sorrow over the actor's demise.
