Pack of wild dogs attacks goat herd in Tando Adam
A pack of around 25 wild dogs attacked a herd of goats in the Goth Noor Muhamamd Saand village near the Tando Adam town of the Sanghar district in central Sindh.
The wild canines ripped apart a goat and devoured it and left another seriously injured. The young shepherd, 10-year-old Imtiaz Manzoor Saand tried to fight off the dogs but they brutally mauled him. The shepherd boy's cries for help alerted farmhands working in the nearby field rushed to his rescue. Men forced the dogs to run away with blows of sticks and rocks.
Badly injured Imtiaz was rushed to the rural health unit and after first aid onward to hospital in Sanghar.
Locals told Daily Express correspondent that two people have died of dog bites in Tando Adam so far this year.
They said that in spite of repeated demands from the public, the local administration has not launched any campaign to cull the wild dogs.
