Girls clinch top 3 positions in XII pre-engineering exams

Girls outshine boys in the Intermediate-Part II (Pre-Engineering Group) results announced by the Board of Intermediate Education Karachi (BIEK) on Friday. "The top three positions have been grabbed by female students," BIEK Chairman Prof Ameer Hussain Qadri said while announcing the results.

Amna Ahsan from BAMM PECHS Govt College for Women topped with 1,001 marks out of the total 1100. Nuzra Jamal from Aga Khan Higher Secondary School secured the second position with 994 marks, while Syeda Aliza Ayaz from Khatoon-e-Pakistan Govt Degree College for Women came third with 992 marks.

According to Controller of Examinations Zareena Rashid, a total of 24,194 candidates had registered for the exam, while 23,671 appeared. Out of these, 11,122 candidates were declared successful, showing a pass percentage of 46.99%.

While sharing the statistics, Zareena said that 679 candidates secured A-1 grade, 1,809 got A grade, 2,835 grabbed B grade, 3,314 obtained C grade, 2,323 got D grade, and 110 candidates passed the exam with E grade.

The results have been uploaded to BIEK's official website and its official Android app, which is available on Google Play Store.
