Art unites Pakistani, Indian students
In a time when global tensions continue to rise due to conflicts such as the Russia-Ukraine war and ongoing instability in the Middle East, students from Pakistan and India are taking steps toward peacebuilding through collaborative art initiatives.
Aaghaz-e-Dosti, an Indo-Pak Friendship Initiative, is playing a crucial role in fostering peace education among school and college students from both nations.
In its latest effort, Aaghaz-e-Dosti has called for peace-themed paintings from students in Pakistan and India for the 13th edition of its Indo-Pak Peace Calendar.
This unique calendar will feature 12 selected paintings, six from each country, showcasing the shared hopes and dreams of young people on both sides of the border.
Dr Devika Mittal, a representative from Aaghaz-e-Dosti, emphasized the significance of this initiative, stating, "The calendar showcases the artwork of innocent, apolitical minds, reminding us that the mutual distrust between our nations is socially and politically constructed."
The calendar not only features these vibrant paintings but also includes messages from peace activists, further strengthening its message of cross-border friendship and harmony.
