Ye, formerly known as Kanye West, is embracing a new chapter in Tokyo, but he’s not settling down with permanent roots, according to music journalist Touré.

Touré revealed to TMZ that Ye is focused on self-producing his upcoming album, 'Bully', from a hotel room in the Japanese capital. Despite spending significant time in Tokyo, Ye hasn’t purchased a property, choosing instead to live in a hotel. Touré describes Ye as “upper-class homeless,” enjoying the freedom of hotel life without the responsibility of maintaining a home.

Ye’s decision to stay in Tokyo is reportedly due to the privacy he enjoys there. Unlike in Los Angeles, where he is often pursued by paparazzi, he is largely left alone in Tokyo. Touré’s sources claim that locals are respectful, rarely bothering him, allowing the artist to navigate the city without the need for an entourage.

Throughout his career, Ye has been known for his nomadic lifestyle, having lived in various locations like Wyoming, Malibu, and Chicago. His frequent moves reportedly contributed to tensions in his marriage with Kim Kardashian, who expressed concerns about his desire to live away from her and their children.

Ye previously made headlines for purchasing a Malibu mansion for $57 million, only to gut the property for a bomb shelter project, which he later abandoned. It seems Ye is now content with his current “homeless” lifestyle, enjoying the freedom it brings.
