‘Former vegan’ Lizzo credits animal proteins for weight loss amid Ozempic accusations
Singer Lizzo has opened up about her decision to stop following a vegan diet, crediting the addition of animal proteins for helping her achieve her weight loss goals. In a recent Instagram video, the "Good as Hell" singer documented what she eats in a day and shared how reintroducing meat into her meals has had a positive impact on her health. Lizzo, 36, said, "I found that animal proteins helped me have more energy, lose weight, and helped with my mental fog."
The star revealed that the turning point came during a trip to Japan, where she indulged in sushi and eggs. She explained, "I was amazed at how good my body felt the next day." Despite the change, Lizzo emphasized that she still believes in the benefits of a vegan diet, saying, "I still think it’s the healthiest diet to have."
Her daily meals now include egg white cups with cauliflower hashbrowns for breakfast, followed by okra water and a buffalo chicken lettuce wrap for lunch. She ends the day with grilled chicken, carrots, and asparagus.
Lizzo acknowledged that her diet is a "sensitive" subject but wanted to share her personal experience, encouraging fans to "do what’s best for you in your life at that moment." While discussing her diet changes, Lizzo also addressed rumors about using Ozempic for weight loss, denying those claims and confirming that she has achieved her results through weight training and a calorie deficit.
