YouTuber Yung Filly granted bail after Australian court appearance on rape and sexual assault charge

British YouTuber and singer Yung Filly, whose real name is Andrés Felipe Valencia Barriento, was granted bail after facing rape and sexual assault charges in an Australian court. The 29-year-old was charged with four counts of sexual penetration without consent, three counts of assault occasioning bodily harm, and one count of impeding a person's breathing. The alleged incident took place in a hotel in Perth on September 28, following his performance at Bar120 nightclub on September 27.

Barriento was arrested in Brisbane earlier this week and extradited to Perth, where he appeared in court. According to PA, no pleas were entered during his Thursday appearance at Perth Magistrates Court. The YouTuber was granted bail under strict conditions, with the court ordering him to pay $100,000 AUD (£52,000) along with a surety of $100,000 USD (£52,000).

Barriento’s lawyer revealed that he earns approximately £360,000 per year from his social media platforms, which include YouTube, Instagram, and TikTok, where he has more than eight million followers. He is scheduled to appear for a committal mention on December 19, before entering a plea.

The internet personality, who launched his YouTube career in 2013, also pursued a music career and appeared on television shows, including The Great Celebrity Bake Off. He has also worked with several clothing brands and major businesses.
