Diddy’s abusive behavior revealed by Cassie’s songwriter: 'Everybody around him was afraid

Tiffany Red, a longtime friend and songwriter for Cassie, has claimed that she witnessed Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs’ "explosive" behavior toward the singer during their relationship. Speaking on ABC’s Secret Life of Diddy — A Special Edition of 20/20 on October 9, 2024, Red recalled a 2015 incident where she overheard Combs scolding Cassie over the phone. Red said, “As soon as he answered — ‘Bitch, where the f–k are you?’ He was so upset that she was out."

Red also recounted witnessing Combs, now 54, screaming at Cassie during her 29th birthday party in 2015, allegedly cornering her while his security stood nearby. “He was really mad. He was really close to her face, and she just had her head down,” Red claimed.

Describing Combs as "explosive," Red suggested that people around him were afraid to challenge him. “He’s got the keys to the cities. He’s friends with the politicians. He’s friends with this person,” she said, indicating his power at the time.

Cassie, whose full name is Casandra Ventura, filed a lawsuit against Combs in November 2023, accusing him of rape and physical abuse. The lawsuit was settled one day after filing, though Combs denied the allegations. In May 2024, CNN released a hotel surveillance video from 2016, showing Combs attacking Cassie. Combs later apologized publicly, calling his behavior “inexcusable.”

Combs was arrested in September 2024 on charges of sex trafficking and racketeering. He pleaded not guilty and is awaiting trial.
