KARACHI:

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Sindh President Haleem Adil Sheikh and his brothers were acquitted by a Malir court on Thursday in a case of forgery and intimidation. The case, filed at Memon Goth police station, had been under trial for several months.

Advocate Khalid Mehmood and other lawyers represented the PTI leader in the case. The court, after hearing arguments from both sides over the course of trail, exonerated Haleem Adil Sheikh and his brothers Aleem Adil Sheikh, Muqeem Adil Sheikh, and Azeem Adil Sheikh.

After the acquittal, Sheikh told the media that it was a politically motivated case. "The false allegations against me and my brothers were politically motivated. Today, truth and justice have prevailed. We have been honourably acquitted. There is a long list of false cases against us. Inshallah, all these cases will also reach their rightful conclusion," he added.

Sheikh reiterated his confidence in the incarcerated chairman of his party, saying, "Imran Khan is the only leader fighting for the nation's rights, and despite all hardships, he remains steadfast. We are deeply concerned about the restrictions on meeting him and his health condition."

"Advocate Intazar Hussain Panjutha was kidnapped after filing a petition for a meeting with Khan. This fascist system has left the nation disillusioned. The current situation could escalate in a way that may not be beneficial for the country," he added.

Sheikh demanded that the government come clean on Khan's health and lift restrictions on meeting the jailed leader in prison.
