Fugitive held in double murder case
Police claimed to have apprehended a fugitive wanted for a brutal double murder dating back to 2020. The arrest was made in Hangu, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, following a special task assigned by SSP Investigation Muhammad Naveed.
In-charge Investigation Johar Town, Muazzam Ilyas, led a police team to track down and arrested the suspect Raza Hussain. He had been on the run for four years after murdering two individuals, Shahzad and Gul Sher, over a financial dispute.
Muazzam Ilyas said the accused had been living in a rented house with the victims, Shahzad and Gul Sher. On the day of the crime, Hussain allegedly plied the victims with alcohol before savagely killing them with a hammer. He then concealed their bodies in a metal trunk before fleeing the scene.
The arrest was made possible through a combination of modern technology and human intelligence, Muazzam Ilyas added. SP Investigation Shehzad Rafiq Awan confirmed that all legal protocols will be followed to ensure that the suspect faces the full extent of the law.
