Karachi University awards honorary doctorate to Dr Zakir Naik

Event was attended by Sindh Governor and varsity Chancellor Kamran Tessori, vice-chancellor and other faculty members

In a ceremony held at the Governor House on Wednesday, the University of Karachi awarded an honorary doctorate to renowned Islamic scholar, Dr Zakir Naik. 

The event, hosted by the university, was attended Sindh Governor and University of Karachi Chancellor Kamran Tessori who conferred the honorary PhD degree upon Dr Naik.

Speaking at the ceremony, Governor Tessori praised Dr Naik for his contributions to the Muslim world, acknowledging his vast popularity and influence. 

“Dr Zakir Naik has delivered thousands of lectures across the globe and participated in numerous debates. This honorary degree is a recognition of his invaluable services. I congratulate him on receiving this doctorate and have full confidence that he will continue his work with the same dedication,” Tessori remarked.

The event was attended by various dignitaries, including consuls general from different countries, Sindh Higher Education Commission Chairman Professor Dr Tariq Rafi, University of Karachi Vice-Chancellor Professor Khalid Iraqi, Mufti Abdul Rahim, as well as numerous deans, professors, and faculty members of the varsity.
