Heat index hits 44 degrees Celsius

The weather in the city remained hot and dry on Tuesday with hot gusts of winds from Balochistan's arid plains blowing through the city.

The midday temperature was recorded at 39 degrees Celsius while the heat index was 44 degrees Celsius, the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) said in its daily synopsis.

PMD forecast for Wednesday and Thursday suggested that the mercury may shoot past 39 degrees Celsius.
