Engro Fertilizers has launched Pakistan's first integrated agri e-commerce platform, "UgAi," allowing farmers to purchase fertilizers directly at official prices. The free app, initially available in Sindh, will expand nationwide soon.
The UgAi app enables Engro Fertilizers to deliver products directly from its warehouses to farmers, customised to their farms' needs. This ensures uninterrupted supply, genuine product quality, and convenient access.
The app also incorporates drone technology and satellite imagery, helping farmers monitor crops, reduce costs, and improve yields.
Sardar Mohammad Bux Khan Mahar, Sindh’s Minister of Agriculture, attended the launch event as the chief guest. He praised the initiative, saying the app addresses issues like artificial shortages, price manipulation, and counterfeit products that harm farmers.
Rafique Ahmed Buriro, Secretary of the Sindh Agriculture Department, stressed the importance of digitisation in improving farming efficiency, calling the app a step towards modernising Pakistan's agriculture to meet global standards.
Ali Rathore, CEO of Engro Fertilizers, reaffirmed the company's commitment to advancing agriculture through technology. “UgAi is a significant step forward,” he said, “providing farmers with tools to make informed decisions, improving crop management and increasing food security.”
