Dylan O’Brien, best known for his roles in Teen Wolf and The Maze Runner, is stepping into a new challenge as he portrays comedy icon Dan Aykroyd in Jason Reitman’s Saturday Night. The film explores the moments leading up to the first-ever broadcast of Saturday Night Live in 1975, offering a behind-the-scenes look at one of television’s most iconic institutions.

In a recent interview with Men’s Health, O’Brien discussed the challenges of playing such a well-known figure. “I didn’t feel like I looked or sounded like him, but I trusted my instincts and the guidance from Jason,” O’Brien shared, admitting he initially questioned if he was the right fit for the role.

Aside from acting, O’Brien opened up about the importance of maintaining mental and physical health in his life. At 33, the actor prioritizes his well-being by sticking to a routine that keeps him grounded. “I always feel best when I’m in a routine,” he said. That routine includes fitness, cold plunges, and an unexpected passion for cooking—especially making homemade chicken soup.

O’Brien, who appeared at the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) to promote Saturday Night, also spoke about how cooking and spending time with loved ones help him de-stress. “I’ve learned that the simplest things can really make a difference,” he explained.

The actor also mentioned that he’s a huge fantasy football fan and remains dedicated to his favorite team, the New York Jets, regardless of their performance.

Between his dedication to his craft and his personal well-being, O’Brien continues to show fans a well-rounded approach to life—both on and off-screen.
