Farmers, rice growers, and political activists staged a protest at the Deputy Commissioner's Office against a steep decline in rice prices and illegal deductions by mill owners.

Participants expressed frustration as mill owners reduced rice prices by Rs800 per ton and also engaged in weight deductions, impacting their earnings. DC Yasir Bhatti, took note of the situation and met with the protesters, promising to convene a joint meeting with mill owners and farmers to resolve the issue.
