KARACHI:

Pakistani citizens trapped in Lebanon due to the ongoing conflict will be repatriated through a special foreign airline flight, authorities confirmed on Sunday.

According to Express News, the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) has approved the evacuation of Pakistanis from war-torn Lebanon, which has been heavily impacted by Israel's military operations.

The CAA has authorised Cham Wings, a Syrian airline, to carry out the mission.

"Cham Wings will operate a special flight using an Airbus A320 to bring back 180 Pakistanis from Lebanon," a CAA official confirmed.

The airline is expected to conduct the evacuation within the next 48 hours. Pakistan’s ambassador in Lebanon has been informed of the flight clearance, the official added.

Israel's military operations, particularly its airstrikes, have heavily targeted southern Beirut, raising concerns for the safety of foreign nationals in the region.

The evacuation of Pakistanis comes as part of ongoing efforts to repatriate citizens amid heightened regional tensions.
