WhatsApp introduces new feature for custom chat colours

The app will automatically set a wallpaper that complements the selected message colour, ensuring a cohesive aesthetic

Meta's popular instant messaging app, WhatsApp, is set to enhance user experience with a new feature that allows users to personalise their chats with vibrant colours.

This update marks a departure from the traditional dark green theme, offering a fresh look for conversations.

According to Wabetainfo new feature will be included in the WhatsApp for iOS 24.20.71 update. Users will have access to a selection of 20 different colours, significantly expanding their options for customising chat themes. In total, 22 unique themes will be available, allowing for a more tailored messaging experience.

Within the app settings, users can choose a default chat theme to maintain a consistent look across all conversations. Additionally, they have the flexibility to select different themes for specific chats, distinguishing between personal, work, and group discussions.

This means that each participant can maintain their preferences without impacting others.For those eager to try this feature, it is currently available to a limited number of users via the App Store and TestFlight app, particularly for those participating in the beta programme.
