Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg designs custom Porsche Cayenne GT Minivan for wife Priscilla Chan
Mark Zuckerberg recently added two new cars to his garage: a Porsche 911 GT3 with a touring package and a customized Porsche Cayenne Turbo GT for his wife, Priscilla Chan.
The Meta CEO showcased the cars in an Instagram post on Sunday, highlighting the custom Cayenne, typically a $200,000 SUV. Both vehicles appear to feature matching light gray finishes in a shade that Porsche calls "Crayon."
"New side quest. Priscilla wanted a minivan, so I've been designing something I'm pretty sure should exist: a Porsche Cayenne Turbo GT Minivan," Zuckerberg wrote. "Threw in a manual GT3 Touring to make it his and hers."
The Instagram video shows the custom Cayenne outfitted with power sliding doors, a feature common in modern minivans. However, it's unclear what other customizations were made to the vehicle’s interior.
In his post, Zuckerberg credited Porsche and West Coast Customs, a southern California-based auto shop known for modifying classic and luxury cars, for assisting in the creation of what may be the only Porsche minivan on the road. West Coast Customs' previous clients have included Justin Bieber and Shaquille O'Neal, among others, according to the shop’s social media.
Porsche spokesperson Angus Fitton told Business Insider via email that the company had developed a concept minivan called the Porsche Vision Race Service in 2018, but it never went into production.
Fitton also mentioned that although Porsche didn’t build Zuckerberg’s custom Cayenne, the company has a "special wishes" department called Sonderwunsch that allows customers to customize their vehicles to their exact specifications.
"To date we've not yet been asked to create a minivan!" Fitton added.
The entry-level Porsche Cayenne starts at $90,000. The Turbo GT package, which upgrades the engine and gives the vehicle a more aggressive exterior, adds at least $100,000 to the overall cost, according to Porsche’s website.
Zuckerberg's new 911 GT3 is a model that recently stopped production, the Porsche spokesperson informed Business Insider. The 911 GT3 Touring had a starting price of $164,650, before any additional options.
